Today as we were driving to base, Jonathan spotted a package of his favorite candy on the floor of the van--Starbursts. "Get it!" he kept yelling. I had forgotten that I had put the candy there a few days ago. Finally I figured out what he wanted, and I gave it to him. He was enjoying himself immensely when I asked if I could have one. "No," he said firmly. I asked nicely, said please, begged and acted like he does when he wants something. "No," or "mine" was all I ever got in reply. Finally Landon joined in on the game, but with no luck. We gave up, and after a few minutes of silence we heard, "Mommy." I turned to look at him, and he gave me two Starbursts. He had saved the last two--one for me and one for Landon. How sweet.
